Strategic Step for Sustainable Cities

A new Master’s Program in Urban and Regional Planning has been launched by Near East University’s Institute of Graduate Studies, marking a significant step toward building sustainable and livable cities in the Northern Cyprus.

As part of this initiative, 26 full scholarships have been allocated specifically for staff members from 18 municipalities and the Department of Urban Planning, supporting local authorities and urban planners in developing contemporary and sustainable urban management practices.

The program aims to strengthen the capacity of municipalities and planning units by combining a forward-looking understanding of urbanism with a focus on environmental sustainability and community well-being. It provides a comprehensive educational framework to equip future planners with the analytical, technical, and policy-oriented skills needed to shape resilient cities of tomorrow.
