Near East University’s Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Preschool Education, carried out an Interactive Story Reading activity at Gülen Yüzler Preschool with the slogan “Every Page is an Adventure.” The event was organized under the coordination of Lecturer Uzm. Hulin Sıddık as part of the “Children’s Literature and Storytelling” course.

Third-year pre-service teachers engaged in a full day of interactive book reading aimed at enhancing children’s verbal language skills and vocabulary through participatory storytelling methods. The activity encouraged children to become active participants by taking on the role of narrator, while pre-service teachers guided the process through structured strategies such as asking questions and explaining new words.

The children showed great interest in pre- and post-story activities, including finger plays, storytelling with puppets, art projects, and mask making. The event concluded with each child receiving a handmade bookmark as a keepsake. The practice not only supported children’s language development but also helped pre-service teachers gain valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education.
