Protecting children’s rights and promoting rights awareness from an early age are fundamental to building a healthy and inclusive society. With this understanding, Near East University organized the “Children’s Rights in Preschool Education Panel,” creating a strong platform for multidisciplinary discussion on early childhood rights, safety, and protective mechanisms. Held at the Near East University Irfan Günsel Congress Center, the panel was organized in collaboration with the Dean of Students, the Preschool Teaching Club, the Atatürk Faculty of Education, and the Social Research and Development Center. Experts from different fields emphasized the importance of introducing children’s rights education in the preschool period and shared current research, practices, and projects aimed at protecting and developing these rights.
Panel sessions addressed key topics such as rights-based service models in early childhood, the role of the social state, family as a protective structure, legal responsibilities in preschool education, protective-preventive social services for ages 0–6, teachers’ rights-based classroom practices, and digital security as one of the most vulnerable areas in early childhood.
