Under the patronage of the First Lady of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Sibel Tatar, the book “From Tradition to Future: Cypriot Cuisine” has been published as the first work of the Presidency of the Republic of Northern Cyprus Cultural Publications. The book, aiming to preserve and pass on the rich culinary heritage of Cyprus to future generations, was written by Erhun Ekinci, a faculty member of the Near East University Faculty of Tourism’s Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, food and beverage consultant, chef Mustafa Şah, gourmet chef and instructor, and Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner. The authors met readers at a book signing event at Rüstem Bookstore on January 11th.

The book, which focuses on traditional recipes, cultural stories, and cooking techniques, offers more than just a cookbook. It is an important contribution to preserving Cyprus’ cultural heritage. During the signing event, Sibel Tatar emphasized the significance of preserving and archiving Cyprus’ rich culture for future generations. She also highlighted the importance of registering unique Cypriot sweets and dishes in tourism.

The book is the first in a series by the Presidency’s Cultural Publications, with the second book focusing on the “Cypriot Door and Chest Book” currently in press, and the third on Cypriot Turkish Folk Music.
