The "Aşık Veysel in the Media and Through the Lens of Masters" Photography Exhibition, a collaborative effort by Near East University, TÜRKSOY, and UNESCO, marks the 50th anniversary of Turkish Folk Poet Aşık Veysel's passing. The exhibition, running until May 26 at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, not only showcases unseen photographs, emphasizing Aşık Veysel's impact on Anatolian culture but also spotlights sustainability and inclusivity efforts.

President Ersin Tatar, who attended the opening, emphasized the exhibition's role in preserving cultural values and recognizing minstrel traditions, praising its positive contribution to TRNC's global recognition. The event, led by Near East University, TURKSOY, and UNESCO, is hailed by Assembly Chairman Zorlu Töre for honoring Aşık Veysel's enduring influence on the Turkish world.

Ambassador Metin Feyzioğlu applauded Near East University's commitment to science, education, and art, asserting the exhibition's role in highlighting the integral role of Turkish Cypriots in the larger Turkish nation.

Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu expressed gratitude for the exhibition's role in preserving Turkish culture, underlining the importance of such initiatives. TURKSOY's Prof. Dr. Bilal Çakıcı highlighted the exhibition's role in fostering cultural bonds across the Turkish world, promoting sustainability in cultural heritage.

Aşık Veysel’s granddaughter, Nezender Süzer Gökçe, discussed their sustainability efforts, including a Braille album for the visually impaired, ensuring inclusivity. The Turkish-English album spans 1934-2021, featuring photographs, news, and interviews. Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ opened the exhibition, inviting attendees to explore Aşık Veysel's world.
