Near East University (NEU) marked International Women’s Day with the event “Being a Woman: Our Story,” held at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center. Organized by NEU’s Gender Research and Application Center (TOCAM) and the Atatürkist Thought Development Club, the event explored women’s social position, equality struggles, and challenges through health, psychology, local governance, and rights-based perspectives. NEU Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, TOCAM Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayça Demet Atay, and Club President Zafer Özbir opened the event, moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Tijen Zeybek. Experts including Hazar Topal, Sibel Demirpençe, Prof. Dr. Özen Aşut, and Prof. Dr. Nur Köprülü shared insights, attracting strong participation.
