In response to the pressing need for effective disaster management, the Natural Disaster Search and Rescue Association (DAAK) emerges as a crucial force in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Under the leadership of dedicated faculty members from the Near East University's Faculty of Sports Sciences, DAAK is poised to strengthen civil society and foster resilience against natural disasters.

Driven by the aftermath of seismic events, particularly the earthquakes in Turkey, DAAK is committed to creating a proficient search and rescue team of 40 individuals. The association's focus on well-equipped and trained personnel echoes a commitment to community empowerment and preparedness.
