En-ROADS Climate Workshop at Our Faculty: Alumni Unite for a Sustainable Future

On May 10, 2023, the “En-ROADS Hybrid Workshop Series II: From Theory to Practice” was held in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty meeting room. The workshop brought together alumni, doctoral students, and interested individuals to gain in-depth insights into climate change and sustainable development goals. The event was organized to update and empower graduates, students, and other attendees in climate action and technology.

Contributing to Climate Action and Sustainable Development Goals

During the workshop, participants explored various scenarios using the En-ROADS simulation tool developed by MIT and Climate Interactive. By modeling the effects of energy, economic, policy, and social factors on global climate change, participants were able to understand the outcomes of different policy interventions aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.

Participants experienced, in a simulated environment, how policies focused on renewable energy, carbon emissions reduction, and social justice can be implemented. The workshop also featured discussions on multi-benefit solutions that not only enhance health and well-being in the short term but also support environmental sustainability in the long run.

Certificates of participation were awarded to those who actively participated in the workshop and completed the feedback form. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty remains committed to preparing its graduates for a sustainable future and raising awareness in the field of climate action through such initiatives.
