Exploring Innovations in Athlete Rehabilitation at Near East University Symposium


On November 25, 2024, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Near East University hosted the “Athlete Rehabilitation Symposium” to discuss the latest advancements in sports science and emphasize the importance of athlete rehabilitation.

The event, chaired by Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören and Prof. Dr. Salih Angin, attracted significant participation from academics, students, and physiotherapists. The symposium focused on various aspects of rehabilitation, including physical recovery, mental health, and innovative approaches to rehabilitation techniques.

Presentations included topics such as “Assessment of Sports Injuries” by Uzm. Fzt. Kamil Bayraklı, “Acute Physiotherapy in Sports Injuries” by Fzt. Nima Jabri, and “Treatment Methods for Delayed Muscle Pain” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berkiye Yılmaz. The symposium also addressed “Increasing Functionality Before Returning to Sport” by Uzm. Fzt. Sema Özden Acaröz and “Preventive Approaches in Athletes” by Uzm. Fzt. Erdoğan Çetintaş.

The discussions offered valuable insights into the latest techniques to enhance post-rehabilitation athlete performance and shared current research and clinical practices.
