Faculty Members from Near East University Address High School Students on “STEM Education for Sustainable Development”

Faculty members from Near East University delivered a presentation on December 27, 2023, at Nicosia Turkish High School, focusing on “Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for Sustainable Development Goals.” The aim was to provide students with crucial insights into understanding sustainable development goals and how their future career choices could contribute to these objectives.

The presentation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Arıkan Sarıoğlu from the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Beyza Hatice Ulusoy from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Food Hygiene and Technology, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Gonca from the Faculty of Health Sciences, extensively covered STEM programs.

They elaborated on how young individuals interested in STEM fields could make significant contributions to their future careers and highlighted the importance of these fields within the context of sustainable development goals.
