GÜNSEL Professionals Bridge the Gap Between Academia and Industry at Near East University
Professionals from GÜNSEL, the driving force behind the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' national electric car brand, have embarked on a pioneering initiative to share their expertise in the automotive sector with engineering students at the Near East University Faculty of Engineering. Operating under the vision of an "Entrepreneurial University," the university aims to enhance collaboration between academia and industry, solidifying this commitment through the establishment of an "Academic Advisory Board."
Chaired by Near East University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, the Academic Advisory Board serves as a crucial link between GÜNSEL and the university. The goal is to increase collaborative efforts in projects, publications, lectures, and internships. As part of this partnership, experienced GÜNSEL professionals contributed by offering both theoretical and applied courses, covering subjects such as "Applied Engineering Education," "CAD Design," "Vehicle Mechanics and Subsystems," "Drawing in Electrics-Electronics," and "Electric Vehicle Technologies."
The collaboration aligns with the University's dedication to the principles of "University 4.0."
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt emphasized the importance of applied education alongside theoretical learning, noting that students, as key stakeholders, benefited from practical experiences in addition to their academic training. The university ensures engineering students are well-prepared for the future by providing internship opportunities and job guarantees at GÜNSEL.
This innovative partnership fills the gap between academia and industry, reflecting the institutions' commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, particularly emphasizing Quality Education and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
