
The 7th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Educational Reflections (ICIER 2025), jointly organized by the Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education and the Institute of Graduate Education and Research, was held under the theme “Social Sustainability in Education.” Bringing together 130 participants from various countries, the conference focused on interdisciplinary approaches aligned with sustainable development goals.
More than 70 academic papers were presented, and workshops offered hands-on training to over 80 participants, including educators, graduate students, and academics. The event aimed to bridge theory and practice, contributing to the academic and professional growth of attendees.
The conference opened with speeches by Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay Aksal, and featured keynote speakers such as Prof. Dr. Aras Bozkurt and Prof. Dr. Yunus Eryaman. Workshops covered diverse topics including effective communication, bibliotherapy, statistical analysis, and qualitative data tools like QDA Miner.
Prof. Dr. Akçıl emphasized the need for transformative change in education systems and highlighted Near East University’s innovative role through initiatives such as the “Prof. Dux” AI project and the establishment of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics—both seen as key to preparing students and society for the future.
