Interdisciplinary Community Service Workshop

The “Interdisciplinary Community Service Workshop” was held at Near East University, bringing together students, academics, and civil society organizations to discuss scientific production and social well-being. Organized by the Atatürk Faculty of Education and the Social Research and Development Center, the workshop took place at the Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan Republic Hall of the Near East University Grand Library. Opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl, Dean of the Atatürk Faculty of Education, and Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay, Head of the Social Research and Development Center.

The workshop consisted of three sessions focusing on community service practices in teacher training, developing future scientific research projects with social impact, and building collective happiness through a positive psychology perspective. By bringing together academics, students, and civil society representatives, the event strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, successful community projects were awarded, while practical activities supporting the Association for Aid to Cancer Patients highlighted the transformative and socially responsible role of education.
