The “Marine and Coastal Protection Management Workshop,” organized by a consortium led by Stantec and funded by the EU Aid Program for the Turkish Cypriot community, took place on October 17-18, 2024. The event, part of the “Environment for Cyprus” project, brought together experts to discuss sustainable management strategies for the island’s marine ecosystems and coastal areas. During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Özge Özden, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing, strategy development, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. She also stressed the need for public awareness and the creation of effective awareness-raising strategies. The workshop facilitated the exchange of ideas and experiences, offering participants the opportunity to collaborate on finding joint solutions to environmental challenges.
