Mathematics Comes to Life at “Mathematical Models and Modeling” Exhibition at Şehit Mehmet Eray Primary School

Students at Şehit Mehmet Eray Primary School had a fun and interactive experience with mathematics at the “Mathematical Models and Modeling” exhibition, organized by Near East University. The exhibition, held by the Atatürk Faculty of Education, was part of the “Mathematics Education” course, focusing on the theme of “Realistic Mathematics Education.” The event aimed to present mathematics in a fun, concrete way, making it accessible and engaging for primary school students.

During the exhibition, students explored various mathematical models and learned about modeling methods. The goal was to help students connect mathematical concepts to their daily lives, encouraging the development of mathematical thinking skills while offering an educational experience.

Prof. Dr. Murat Tezer emphasized that the materials showcased at the exhibition would enhance students’ attitudes and performance in mathematics. “These materials will strengthen the connection between students and mathematics, greatly contributing to their learning processes,” he stated. Prof. Dr. Tezer also expressed his gratitude to the future teachers who helped organize the event, as well as the school’s staff.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü highlighted the importance of preparing prospective teachers with innovative teaching methods. “This exhibition reflects our goal of developing creative educational solutions,” she said.
