
The “National Sustainable Healthy Aging Symposium” at Near East University highlighted the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in elderly care. Organized by the Faculty of Nursing at the İrfan Günsel Congress Center, the event brought together experts to discuss AI’s impact on healthcare access for aging populations.
Key topics included “Artificial Intelligence in Geriatric Care,” “Elderly Health and AI,” and “Age Discrimination and Mental Health.” Opening speeches were delivered by Faculty of Nursing Dean Prof. Dr. Ümran Dal Yılmaz, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Totur Dikmen, and AI-based academic AI Prof. DUX.

Experts such as Dr. İlker Gelişen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Sucu Dağ, and Dr. Ayşe Aydındoğmuş explored AI applications in elderly surgery and fall risk management. Social Service Specialist Gizem Güney Ercantan also discussed AI’s impact on elderly rights.
