As part of Elderly Respect Week, healthcare professionals from Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital visited Kalkanlı Nursing Home and Lapta Nursing Home, providing health check-ups for residents. In addition to medical care, elderly residents received heartfelt gifts—paintings created by Near East Primary School students under the theme “Our Elders and Us”, symbolizing love and appreciation from younger generations.
Elderly Respect Week, celebrated every March, aims to raise awareness of elderly care and ensure they receive the value and respect they deserve. To mark the occasion, the Nursing Services Units of both hospitals organized meaningful visits to provide healthcare support and companionship.

The first visit took place at Kalkanlı Nursing Home, where Near East University Hospital Chief Nurse Pervin Turan, Brand and Corporate Communications Manager Zeynep Tosun, and a team of healthcare professionals conducted medical check-ups and spent quality time with residents.
Meanwhile, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital Chief Nurse Sema Yalçınkaya, Patient Services Manager Ayşegül Dipdere, Nurse Naciye Uğurlu, and Marketing Communications Specialist Pelin Safkanlı visited Lapta Nursing Home, ensuring that residents were not alone during this special week.
