Under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Üstün Aksoy, Head of the Beauty and Hair Care Services Department, and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay and Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay, Presidents of the Near East University Social Research and Development Center, the visit to the Nicosia Special Education and Rehabilitation Center (ÖZEV) was filled with colorful moments. During the event, students provided hair and makeup applications to young individuals with disabilities at ÖZEV, contributing to creating awareness and spreading positivity.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Üstün Aksoy, emphasizing that love can overcome any obstacle, stated, “All our friends with disabilities serve as examples to us with their determined stance and perseverance against the challenges they face. With this event, we aimed to contribute to increasing social sensitivity.”
The visit not only provided a hands-on experience for the students but also facilitated an exchange of warmth and support, promoting inclusivity and understanding on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
