World Hearing Day, observed annually on March 3, is marked by events to raise awareness about hearing health. This year, Near East University’s Audiology Department students and faculty members organized a creative awareness campaign to emphasize the importance of hearing devices.

Participants donned colorful demo hearing aids and walked through the Dereboyu and Surlariçi regions of Nicosia, attracting attention to the cause. The event included interactions with the public, where valuable information about hearing health and assistive devices was shared. Photos and videos were captured to document the occasion and extend its reach to a broader audience.

This initiative aimed to break stigmas surrounding hearing aids while promoting the significance of regular hearing check-ups and early intervention. By engaging directly with the community, the Near East University Audiology Department contributed to raising public awareness and advancing hearing health education, in line with the goals of World Hearing Day.
