Near East University Experts Discuss Key Issues in Adolescent Development

As part of its social responsibility projects, Near East University Hospital continues to contribute to youth education. Specialist doctors from the hospital voluntarily participated in the “Transition from Adolescence to Youth” project, implemented in cooperation with the Kyrenia Inner Wheel Club and the Ministry of National Education.

The project’s first training seminar was held at Sedat Simavi Vocational High School with great participation. The seminar aimed to help teachers better understand adolescents’ needs and guide them in managing this critical period effectively.

The seminar featured four presentations on key topics, including physical and mental development during adolescence, sexually transmitted diseases, HPV, and cervical cancer. Expert speakers included Dr. Neptün Fazilet Erdener, Prof. Dr. Kaya Süer, Clinical Psychologist Deniz Aykol Ünal, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neşe Akcan Özlü, who provided valuable insights and solutions for common adolescent challenges.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing teachers to discuss concerns and strategies for better student support.
