Near East University’s Atatürk Faculty of Education has actively supported initiatives aimed at enhancing community well-being and fostering social responsibility.

 

The “One Book, One Toy Donation Campaign”, launched by the Pre-School Teaching Department in collaboration with the Social Research and Development Center and Dikmen Municipality, encourages donations of books and toys to benefit children in need. This campaign emphasizes the importance of supporting children’s education and emotional growth, while also strengthening social unity.

 

 

In addition, students from the Classroom Teaching and Psychological Counseling and Guidance Departments organized a “Reading Festival” at Near East Primary School. The event provided an engaging reading experience for primary school students, introducing them to the joy of reading through interactive activities such as educational games, storytelling, and dramatizations. Bibliotherapy and drama techniques were also used to support children’s emotional and cognitive development.

 

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü, the coordinator of the Reading Festival, highlighted the importance of promoting curiosity and creativity in children. Both initiatives reflect Near East University’s dedication to community engagement and the development of future educators and students.
