The 2nd International Student Congress, organized by the Near East University Faculty of Medicine in collaboration with the Student Dean’s Office, was held under the theme of “Migration and Health.”

The congress, which focused on the theme of “Migration and Health” and brought together medical students from all around the world, saw the participation of expert academicians, researchers, students, and numerous attendees specialized in migration and health services. Aimed at addressing the impact of migration on health from the perspective of medical students, the congress sought to understand the effects of migration on health systems, public health, and the welfare of societies, while also aiming to increase awareness among future generations of healthcare professionals on this crucial issue.

Over the course of three days, the congress hosted 4 conferences, 3 workshops, and 19 sessions, welcoming 580 registered participants. Additionally, Near East Life provided free health and accident insurance to guest speakers and students from abroad throughout the duration of the congress.

The congress covered various aspects of the impact of migration on health, including “International Migration and Its Implications for Health,” “Mental Health Issues of Migrants,” “Communication with Migrants and Refugees,” “Migration and Infectious Disease Surveillance,” “Migration and Immunization,” “Migration and Psychosocial Life,” “Migration and Addiction,” “Migration and Child Health,” “Migration and Elderly Health,” “Migration and Nutrition Issues,” “Migration and Groups at Risk of Exploitation,” “Migration and Nursing Services,” “Migration and Access to Health Services,” “Physician Migration,” “Migration and Reproductive Health,” “Migration and Violence,” and “Migration and Women from the Perspective of Medical Ethics.”

This congress served as a significant platform for fostering dialogue and understanding on the intersection of migration and health, contributing to the broader discourse on global health challenges.
