Three Strategic Civil Society Partnerships Driving Social Impact

Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education continues to transform its academic knowledge into social benefit through a series of collaboration protocols signed with leading civil society organizations in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Ranked among the world’s top 500 universities, Near East University reinforces its commitment to social responsibility by expanding partnerships that connect education, research, and community engagement.

Within this framework, the Atatürk Faculty of Education and the Social Research and Development Center have signed cooperation protocols with the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukemia and Cancer, the Olive Tree Education and Aid Association (ZAYDER), and the Cyprus Turkish Information and Research Foundation (KİTBAV).

The first protocol, signed in December with the Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation, aims to support the educational and learning processes of children undergoing cancer treatment. The agreement was signed with the participation of Foundation President Hüseyin Özün Yamaç and social service specialist Beyhan Yılmaz.

The cooperation with ZAYDER focuses on inclusive education, human rights, gender equality, healthy living, and the promotion of a culture of peace. In addition, short-term training programs for children, youth, and adults will be implemented through solidarity-based projects, directly supporting children in need and expanding long-term social impact.

The third protocol, signed with KİTBAV President Halil İbrahim Şevket, targets educational activities and social solidarity projects designed to strengthen the foundation’s institutional capacity and community outreach.
