The events, featuring the participation of esteemed professionals such as Architect İlkay Feridun and Interior Designer Şölen Üstüner, addressed the place and role of women in the fields of architecture and interior design. Prof. Dr. Zihni Turkan, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, presented “Appreciation Plaques” to the guests, while participating students received “Participation Certificates.”
In addition to the talks, various activities such as the Kite Festival and Student Works Exhibition attracted considerable interest from faculty members and students of the Faculty of Architecture. During the Kite Festival, students designed kites representing women’s rights and the struggle for equality, featuring various slogans on the subject, and flew them into the sky.
Overall, the events organized by Near East University provided a platform for meaningful discussions on the role of women in architecture and interior design, while also promoting awareness of gender equality issues.
