World Sleep Day Symposium Explores the Past, Present, and Future of Sleep Science!

Near East University hosted a symposium on sleep science as part of World Sleep Day, which is celebrated every March to highlight the importance of healthy sleep and raise awareness about sleep disorders. The symposium, titled “Past, Present, and Future in Sleep Studies”, was organized in collaboration with the Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences, Brain and Consciousness States Research Center (BEBAM), and the Turkish Sleep Medicine Association.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the event brought together leading experts in the field, including Prof. Dr. Murat Aksu, Board Member of the Asian Sleep Medicine Society and former President of the Sleep Medicine Association, Assoc. Prof. Gonca İnanç, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören, President of BEBAM.

The symposium covered various aspects of sleep science, featuring discussions on topics such as “Sleep Studies Based on Sleep Medicine”, “Sleep: Selections from Today”, and “Sleep: Reflections from the Past to the Future”. Participants explored the evolution of sleep research, gaining insights into current studies and future innovations in the field.
