During the panel, Dr. Cihan Dizdaroğlu, a Lecturer from Başkent University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations, highlighted the significance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250, emphasizing the need for young people’s active involvement in peace processes. He stressed the importance of adopting inclusive policies that foster reconciliation and lasting peace, drawing on examples and data from the international system to illustrate the vital roles played by the youth in these domains.
Prof. Dr. Şerife Z. Eyüpoğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Near East University, expressed the value of providing students with a platform to discuss international events from diverse perspectives through the “Youth, Peace and Security” panel. She emphasized the commitment to increasing such events to enhance awareness among students.
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Nur Köprülü, the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, highlighted the enthusiastic participation of students from various parts of the world and different disciplines such as Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, and Business. Prof. Dr. Köprülü emphasized the enriching experience these panels offer to both undergraduate and graduate students, providing them with opportunities to pose questions and express their viewpoints on crucial peace and security issues.
