The Refugee Rights Association, dedicated to addressing deficiencies and human rights violations related to the right to asylum, partnered with the Faculty of Dentistry to raise awareness and provide education on refugee rights in northern Cyprus. In this context, a visit was organized to meet the oral and dental health needs of refugee children and contribute to community service. A special informative program was presented to 43 refugee children and their mothers.
During the visit, faculty research assistants provided practical training on tooth brushing techniques for children and mothers. The event covered detailed information on oral hygiene and cavity prevention, significantly contributing to the awareness and self-improvement of refugee children and mothers regarding their oral health. This meaningful initiative not only targeted children but also stood out as a step towards increasing awareness of refugee rights.
The collaboration between the Refugee Rights Association and the faculty highlights the importance of awareness campaigns reaching broader segments of society. This special event should be considered not only as an initiative for children but also as a step in developing sensitivity towards the challenges faced by refugees and fostering a culture of solidarity in the community.
