During the public informational meeting, a comprehensive perspective was offered on contributing to women’s healthy living in physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions, aiming to raise awareness in society. Topics such as women’s access to healthcare services, increasing health consciousness, and developing policies to address health issues were thoroughly discussed. The panel, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Dilan Kırmızı from the Department of Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, concluded with a question-and-answer session.
The event drew intense interest from women, with notable participants including Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören, President of NERITA and a member of the Excellence Center’s Board; Prof. Dr. Sevcan Kurtulmuş Yılmaz, Quality and Accreditation Coordinator at Near East University, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, alongside many other academics.
Various presentations were delivered during the panel. Dr. Dt. Ayşegül Şahin from the Department of Periodontology discussed “The Role of Hormones in Women’s Oral Health,” while Assistant Professor Dr. Betül Mammadov from the Midwifery Department addressed “Women’s Health Issues Across Life Stages.”
Additionally, Assistant Professor Dr. Taygun Dayı from the Nutrition and Dietetics Department talked about “Healthy Eating Habits Across Life Stages,” and Assistant Professor Dr. Tuba Yerlikaya from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department discussed “The Impact of Exercise on Women’s Health.” Furthermore, Research Assistant Barış Başel from the Faculty of Health Sciences presented on “Social Policies and Women.” These presentations provided recommendations on oral care, nutrition, and physical activity tailored to women of different age groups, aiming to empower them with knowledge for healthier lifestyles and enhance societal awareness regarding women’s health issues.
