An event in December organized by the Near East University Sustainability Office brought together 10th-grade students from Değirmenlik High School to empower girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and to raise career awareness. Titled Girls Shaping the Future, the program was designed in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on gender equality.

Held within the scope of mentoring trainings, the event featured academics from Near East University who shared their professional journeys, experiences, and insights on building careers in STEM fields. Through interactive presentations and question-and-answer sessions, students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss challenges, and gain firsthand knowledge about academic and professional pathways in science and technology. The informative and motivating atmosphere encouraged students to envision themselves in STEM careers.
