On World Autism Awareness Day, Near East University students took part in a meaningful social responsibility initiative titled “Bir Sahne, Bir Tebessüm” (One Stage, One Smile) at Girne Special Education and Job Training School. The event was organized by the Turkish Language Teaching Department and the Turkish Literature Club, bringing university students together with children with special needs.

The initiative reflected the university’s commitment to social responsibility through education and community engagement. It aimed to increase public awareness about autism while creating an inclusive and joyful environment for children.

The program began with a theatre performance and continued with games and interactive activities held in the school garden. Students volunteered to engage directly with children, encouraging participation, communication, and social interaction. The event created positive emotional experiences while also strengthening awareness of inclusion and empathy within society.
