The event titled “What Is Cancer: Are We the Cure or Helpless?” was organized through a collaboration between Near East University and the Association for Elderly Rights and Mental Health, drawing strong public interest in Lefkoşa. Moderated by Association President Prof. Dr. Hatice Jenkins, the program highlighted the importance of cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and public awareness. Expert academics from Near East University provided information on the causes of cancer, methods of early detection, healthy nutrition, and strategies for coping with the disease. The event emphasized that timely access to accurate information and increased awareness are among the most effective tools in the fight against cancer.
