Organized under the leadership of Near East University, “ICIER 2026” brought together academicians from various countries, primarily Turkey and the United Kingdom, in Cyprus to discuss the future of education in the age of artificial intelligence. The two-day event, the 8th International Interdisciplinary Education Reflections Conference, was organized in collaboration with the Atatürk Faculty of Education and the Cyprus Turkish Women Entrepreneurs Association (GİKAD), and focused on interdisciplinary perspectives in education and social development.
The conference hosted international participants and featured sessions addressing how artificial intelligence is reshaping educational systems, teaching methods, and institutional responsibilities. It emphasized the importance of adapting higher education to technological transformation while maintaining social sustainability and inclusion.
Within the program, panels explored different dimensions of social sustainability. Experts and academics discussed solutions to social problems and the role of universities in driving social transformation. Speakers highlighted universities’ responsibilities in knowledge production, community engagement, and sustainable development, stressing the need for stronger institutional collaboration.
