International Congress on Fertility and Mammary Health in Farm Animals

The “9th International Congress on Fertility and Mammary Health in Farm Animals”, organized under the leadership of Near East University, brought together academics and experts from different countries, providing an international platform to discuss current scientific developments in livestock productivity, reproductive health, and mammary diseases. Held in Kyrenia and organized by the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the congress once again gathered leading researchers and specialists in veterinary science.

The opening ceremony began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by speeches from Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, NEU Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, and members of the organizing committee. The event was attended by prominent figures from academia, government, and the veterinary sector, highlighting its strong institutional participation.

Across three days, the congress featured sessions on reproductive health, fertility, mammary gland health, and advances in veterinary medicine. Experts also addressed global challenges in animal health and emphasized stronger cooperation between academic research and field practice. Presentations by Prof. Dr. Carlos Risco focused on biotechnology’s role in improving fertility, milk production efficiency, and diagnosing subfertile dairy herds.
