Near East University hosted the “National Symposium on Sustainable Healthy Aging IV,” bringing together academics, healthcare professionals, and elderly individuals to discuss the many dimensions of healthy aging. Organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing and the Association for Elderly Rights and Mental Health under the theme “Our Elderly Speak,” the event combined scientific presentations with inspiring life stories. Among the speakers was 87-year-old Altekin Alpal, who emphasized the importance of perseverance, hard work, motivation, and lifelong learning. Alongside other association members aged 85, 86, and 87, Alpal shared valuable life lessons on resilience and positive thinking, demonstrating that active aging and continuous personal growth are key to a long, productive, and fulfilling life.
