Near East University Fosters Cultural Integration: New Students Explore Cyprus Car Museum

The Near East University in Northern Cyprus organized an event for new students from the Faculties of Pharmacy and Nursing, aiming to foster cultural integration and provide an educational experience. In collaboration with the Dean of Students and Joint Courses Coordination Office, the students visited the Cyprus Car Museum, home to a rich collection of over 200 classic and sports cars, including a 120-year-old 1903 Model Crestmobil. The event not only showcased the historical significance of the museum’s exhibits but also featured various attractions such as toys made from machine parts, model car collections, and hyper-realistic silicone statues of Formula 1 pilots.

The students, hailing from diverse international backgrounds, expressed their impressions and enjoyment of the visit. Nathan C. Enemiu noted his attraction to sports cars, emphasizing the trip’s usefulness for socializing. Hannan Hussein found the experience very beneficial, highlighting its friendly and enjoyable nature. Ruth Kapend, a first-time visitor, was impressed by the museum’s many objects, while Elahe Esfandiari captured the classic cars through photographs, sharing her excitement about the fun trip.

This initiative aligns with the university’s broader goal of promoting cultural exchange, fostering a sense of community among students from different countries, and providing valuable experiences beyond the classroom. The event contributes to the integration of international students into the local culture and community, creating a platform for shared experiences and enhancing the educational journey of the participants.
