Near East University provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services to its students through the Sexual Health Service Unit. This unit offers education, counselling, and awareness programs on topics including safe sexual practices, prevention and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pregnancy prevention methods, and protection against sexual harassment and abuse.
The unit works in collaboration with clinical services to support diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of sexual and reproductive health issues as needed. Services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experts specializing in obstetrics and women's health nursing, public health nursing, gynaecology, clinical psychology, and social services. To enhance outreach and accessibility, a peer education group actively participates in awareness campaigns and peer support initiatives. All students of Near East University have access to these services, which aim to promote informed decision-making and well-being regarding sexual and reproductive health.
Purpose-Objectives of Unit: Near East University 'Sexual Health Service Unit' is structured to provide education and consultancy services to university students in the field of sexual health. Young people need accurate, adequate and accessible sexual health education to protect, develop and maintain their sexual health. In this regard, increasing access to qualified sexual health education and consultancy services that respect the reproductive rights of young people is among the primary goals of the unit. In addition, we work in integration with clinical services on needed issues and support the diagnosis and treatment of sexual problems.
