Ethics Training and Awareness Activities

Near East University actively promotes ethical values, academic integrity, and responsible conduct through structured training, seminars, and awareness activities. These initiatives aim to strengthen institutional governance, enhance professional ethics, and foster a culture of transparency, respect, and accountability across all levels of the University.

Through interdisciplinary panels, workshops, and expert-led sessions, the University provides continuous opportunities for students and staff to engage with key ethical issues, including human rights, workplace conduct, academic integrity, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies.

Mentorship Academy: Ethical Violations and Mobbing

Near East University, through the DESAM Research Institute, organized a comprehensive training program titled “Mentorship Academy: Ethical Violations and Mobbing” on 20 June 2025.

The program addressed critical issues related to ethical misconduct, workplace mobbing, and professional responsibility within academic environments. The training included sessions on mentoring in scientific processes within an ethical framework, legal rights in cases of ethical violations, and psychological perspectives on mobbing and ethical dilemmas.

The event featured expert speakers from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and included interactive discussions, case-based analyses, and an open panel session encouraging participant engagement.

This initiative contributed to raising awareness of ethical standards, strengthening institutional responsibility, and promoting a safe and respectful academic environment.

Shaping Education with Artificial Intelligence: Research, Innovation and Ethics Panel

Near East University, in collaboration with the Atatürk Faculty of Education and partner organizations, hosted the panel “Shaping Education with Artificial Intelligence: Research, Innovation and Ethics” on 28 August 2025.

The panel explored the intersection of artificial intelligence, education, and ethics, highlighting the importance of responsible innovation and ethical decision-making in the digital age. Discussions focused on the ethical implications of AI in education, research integrity, and the role of emerging technologies in shaping future learning environments.

The event brought together international experts and academics, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and critical reflection on ethical challenges in contemporary education systems.

Through this panel, the University reinforced its commitment to integrating ethical considerations into technological advancement and academic practices.
